Examination TextJane Goddard aged 30 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields removed from the Parish of Aldgate saith she is the widow of Robert Goddard (who died upwards of a year ago) to whom she was married at Hand and Pen in the Fleet five years since, has no children living, that he was a Trunk Maker by trade and was bound an apprentice by indenture for seven years to one William Moor in Billiter Lane by Leaden Hall Street London and there served about three years, then the said Moor dying he was turned over to one Smith a Trunk Maker at the corner of Chequer Court at Charing Cross in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served all the residue of his said apprenticeship as in his lifetime he hath often informed this Examinant, and that she hath likewise been informed of the same by the widow of the said Smith with whom and her said husband she had often dined at the same house.
