Examination TextThe Examination of Mary Ford singlewoman lodging at Mr Horean's in Coventry Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken upon oath this eighth day of January 1747. This Examinant upon her voluntary oath saith that she was never was married, and that she was on the seventh Day of December last past delivered of a female bastard child (since christened Sarah) at Mr Horean's aforesaid yet living and become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that William Turner a Footman to the right Honourable the Earl of Aylesbury had carnal knowledge of her body some time about the latter and of the month of March last at a house in Street in Haymarket (which this Examinant apprehends to be James Street) in a room up one pair of stairs forward their and several times afterwards in a room up two pair of stairs there in and upon a bed at which or one of which times he the said William Turner did beget on her body the said female bastard child, that he the said William Turner is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before James Fraser, Daniel Gach.
