Examination TextMargaret Carey aged 32 years passed from St Anne's saith she is the wife of Timothy Carey (who has been gone from her this two months) to whom she was married at the Fleet about six years ago, that she has one child by him now with her this Examinant to wit Mary aged five years, that he is a Baker by trade and don't know where he served his time, that he lived in and rented an house in Hedge Lane next door to the Two Brewers for the space of two years at the yearly rent of 14 pounds per ann. besides taxes, quitted the same about Michaelmas last and never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant since, and further upon her oath that he has left her and her said child and that they are now become chargeable and to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields. Sworn the eighth of May 1746 before James Fraser.
