Examination TextMary Ireland aged 41 years lodging at Mrs Parack at the Waterman's Arms in Hungerford Market in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith she is the widow of John (who died about three weeks ago in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields), that he was a Carpenter by trade and lived in and rented an house in Hungerford Market in the Parish aforesaid, known by the sign of the Castle, for the space of three years at 16 pounds per ann. besides taxes, quitted the same five years ago and never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant or gained any other settlement since, that she has two children living by her said husband to wit Thomas aged four years, Susannah aged 11 months now with this Examinant. Sworn this 26th of December 1747 before Daniel Gach.
