DescriptionConsidered the Cases of Elizabeth McKenzie, 15 years old. Her Father & mother sell penny bundles of Wood at the Wall Bermondsey. She was convicted of receiving a pair of boots, knowing them to be stolen. She states; that two Girls, one of whom was admitted King's evidence, brought the boots to her & gave her them without her knowledge that they were stolen. Her master, with whom she lived two years, a Mr. Stone, near the Jolly Sailor,'Red'riffe, spoke to her Character, at her trial, as having been an honest Girl while in his service. Judgment was respited & she was recommended by the Court to the Refuge. Admitted.
