DescriptionCharles Young, 25 years of age, of Canterbury. He has no friends. He was brought up a writing master; but has lately lived by scene-painting. He has been in France 4 years. He returned in June last, found that his Father was dead & fell into distress. He endeavoured to enlist as a soldier; but being blind in the left eye, they would not receive him. He came to London & being very hungry he stole a bundle from the house where he lodged & was convicted of the same at the Old Bailey. Judgement was respited & he was recommended by the Court. Admitted.
