This Indenture Wittnesseth That Edward Clarke< no role > & Hugh Mills< no role > Churchwardens William Bine< no role >
Charles Prattin William Dod< no role > & Edward Walter< no role > Overseers of the poore of the
Parish of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middx with the assent of Hugh Chamberlen< no role > &
Leonard Hancock< no role > Esqrs : Justices of the peace for the said County & for the Citty & liberty of
Westmr. according to the Statute in that case made & pvided have putt Christopher Tremarne< no role >
a poore Parish Child an Apprentice to William Warren< no role > of Lambeth in the County of Surry
Waterman & with him to dwell & serve after the manner of an Apprentice from the day of
the date hereof untill the full end & terme of three yeares be fully compleate & ended
Dureing all which said terme wee the said Churchwardens & Overseers of the poore doe
order & appointe (with the assent aforesaid) that the said apprentice well & faithfully shall
serve his said Mr. his secreets keepe his lawfull comands every where gladly doe
hurt to him he shall not doe nor cause it to be done of others but Prvent it if he may
or cann Taverns or Alehouses he shall not frequent at Cards Dire or any other unlawfull
game he shall not play Fornicacon he shall not comitt Matrimony dureing the said
terme he shall not contract from his said Masters service by day or Night he shall
not absent himself but in all things as good & faithfull servant ought to doe
shall behave himself towards his said Mr. & all his dureing the said terme and
dureing such further terme as he shall be bound for at the Hall according to the
custome of the Citty of London And the said William Warren< no role > shall teach and
instruct his said apprentice in the Art Mistery or trade of a Waterman which he
now useth according to the best of his skill & knowledge And shall give to & pvide
for his said Apprentice sufficient Meale Drink washing lodging linnen apparrell
and all other necessaryes meete & convenient for such an apprentice dureing the said
terme and for the true Pformance of all the said Articles the said Pties bind
themselves each to other by these prsents In witnesse whereof the said parties have
hereunto Interchangeably sett their hands & Seales the Ninteenth day of July
Anno Dui 1693 and in the fifth yeare of their Maties Reigne
