St- Clemt- Danes Decr- ye 15th- 1732

A Genll- Meeting of the Inhabitants of this Parish Pursuant to
an Adjournemt- made ye first Instant and a Notice thereof
given in the Church

Mr. Wynne reported from ye Comittee (to whom ye Consideration
of ye intended Workhouse was referred) the sevll- Resolucons of ye
sd- Comittee thereupon wch they desired him to report to the
Genll- Vestry & he read ye report wch was as follows

The Comittee (to whom ye Consideration of your Workhouse
was referred) Have mett pursuant to your directons & have read & Considered
the sevll- orders of Vestry relating thereto particularly that of ye 24th
of Novr- last by wch it does appeare, that at a Genll- Vestry you have
already agreed wth Mr. Meadman for ye New fronting & repairing
par [..] f ye Intended Workhouse & for ye Erecting & finishing the
Additionall Building at ye Sume of £600, tho- without any
Memorandum or Articles in Writing wth fwd- Submitt to you maybe
proper to be Entered into between the sd. Mr. Meadman & Such other
Persons as you shall appoint

But your Comittee considering the sume already agreed on for that
purpose & how much more must necessarily be wanting for Beds
Bedding Cloaths & other necessarys for ye receiving & accomodating
of so many poor people (the ye prense Humber can not yet be ascertained)
Considering also in What manner & method so great a Sume might be
most Effectually raised your Comittee have come to ye following
Unanimous resolucon.


1st

upon ye queon
put ye board
disagreed}That for & towds ye conveniently Support and
maintenance of ye poor of this Parish in a Work house
to be provided for that purpose an additionall
Rate not Exceeding Ten pence in ye pound for this
present Yeare be granted

And some of your Present officers to prevent any possibility of reproach
upon them as well as all fears & apprehensions of any misapplicacon
of ye money to be Collected thereon having proposed that a proper
person might be appointed as a Trearor receiver Subject to some
