Ordered that the Case & Opinion be Entered in
the Minute Book

Case

The Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middlx made a Rate
for the Releife of the Poor of the sd. Parish Entitled

A Tax Rate or Assessment on the severall Persons
whose Names are herein after mentioned Inhabitants of the
Parish of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middx made &
Assessed the 20th Day of June 1740 by us whose Names are
hereunder written being the Church Wardens & Overseers of
the Poor & others Antient Inhabitants of the said Parish
by & with the Consent of his Majestys Justices of the Pence
for the County of Middx aforesaid(one of the Quorum)in
Order to Raise a Competent Sum or Sums of Money for &
towards the Necessary Releife of the Same Impotent
Old Blind & other Poor of the said Parish & also for such
other Purposes as in the several Acts of Parliamt. relating
to the Poor are mentioned after the Rate of One Shilling &
Six Pence in the Pound according to the Rents paid by the
several Inhabitants of the said Parish as sett agt. each of
their Respective Names which said Rate is in the Column
of this Book.

And also one other Rate Entitled

A Tax Rate or Assessment made & Assessed the 23d. Day
of June One Thousand Seven Hundred & Forty one on the
severall Persons whose Names are herein after mentioned
Inhabitants of the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the
County of Middx by us whose Names are hereunder written
being Church Wardens & Overseers of the Poor & Others Antient
Inhabitants of the said Parish by & with the Consent of two
of his Majestys Justices of the Pence for the County of Middx
