Regard to the badness of the small Beer made
for the Use of the Poor and the Matter being
now again brought before the Board by the
Overseers - some of the Beer was called for
and tasted and proving to be very bad indeed
the Brewer
was ordered to attend the Board
which he did and was examined with Respect
to same and it appearing upon such his
Examination that it might be of great
Use if the Board should grant him an
Assistant to instruct him for two or three
Brewings. It was moved by Mr. Owen
and seconded by Mr. Nash that a Person
should be employ'd by the Overseers to instruct
and assist the Brewer in making the Beer
for two or three Brewings and the Question
being put, it was ordered accordingly.
Several of the Members of this Board went
with the Brewer to inspect the state of
the Collars and Utensils of Brewery when
upon their Report of the want of Cash &
the Board recommended to the Overseers
to supply such as were necessary.
