Clement Danes
At a Meeting of the Committee for Paving Elected and appointed
pursuant to an Act of Parliament in the Vestry Room of Saint
Clement Danes the 5th. day of Febry. 1773 .

Proposed and Agreed that Mr. Stichall take the Chair

The Minutes of the last Meeting read and Confirmed.

Ordered that the Churchwardens of this Parish be requested to hold a Vestry
on Thursday next being the second Thursday in the Month of February) between the
hours of ten in the Morning and two in the afternoon for the Electing and appointing
a proper Number of Householders resident in this Parish to be a Committee for the
better Carrying the purposes of the several Acts of Parliament into Execution for
Paving Cleansing and Lighting this Parish for one year from thence next ensuing
pursuant to the statute in that Case made

In pursuance of the Statute abovementioned this Committee made and
signed a further Rate or Assessment of Six pence in the Pound upon all and every
Person or Persons who in habit hold use occupy possess on enjoy any Land Ground
House Shop Wharf Warehouse Coach house Stable Cellar Vault Building Tenement
or Hereditament whatsoever within Essex Street, Devereux Court, Boswell Court Clement
Lane Bear and Harrow Court Old Boswell Court little Shire Lane Ship yard and
Great Shire Lane or either of them in this Parish so far as the same Places are
respectively New Paved, which Rate is to Commence for Michaelmas last for half a year
then next Also at the same time made a like further Rate or assessment of Six
pence in the Pound upon all and every Person or Person who in habit hold use occupy
possess or enjoy any Land Ground House Shop Wharf Warehouse Coach house Stable
Cellar Vault Building Tenement or Hereditament whatsoever within Herberts Passage
Houghton Street Clements Inn Passage Holles Street Clare Markett Beaufort Buildings
Craven Buildings and Gilberts Passage or either of them in this Parish so far as the
some places are respectively New Paved which Rate is to Commence from Christmas
last for one Quarter of a year then next.

The Clerk having laid before this Committee a Bill of Alexr. Anderson amounting
to Forty Pounds for Cleaning this Parish (except the Streets Etc. Paved under the optional
Clause) from Michas to Christmas last Ordered that the same be transmitted to the
Commrs: for Payment for that purpose this Committee signed the same.

This Committee having heretofore certified to the Commrs. for Paving Westmr.
Etc. two Bills of Robert Campbell< no role > amounting to £96:19s:7d for keeping the Carriage
way of the Strand in Repair under a Subsisting Contract Ordered that Mr. George do
