The Exaicon of Alice Shrimplin Lodgin in the
Parish of St. Clemt. Danes in theCounty
of Middx taken the Ninth day of May 1740 who upon her
Oath Saith that She is a Singlewoman & was never Marryed
and further upon her Voluntary Oath Saith that on the
25th. day of March last she was Delivered of a Male Bastard
Child in the sd. Parish of St. Clemt. Danes wch hath since
been Baptized Robt< no role > . wch is likely to become Chargeable to the sd. Parish she being Poor & not able to maintain ye same and that one Robt. Nicholls< no role > did
begett the sd. Child on her body she this Exaiant at
such time liveing as a Yearly hired Servt . with Sr.
Windham Knatchbull< no role > at his Seat called Masum Hatch
in the County of Kent and he the sd. Robt. Nicholls< no role > at ye
same time having as a Yearly hired Servt . with the sd.
Sr. Windham Knatchbull< no role > there became acquainted wth
her & had Carnall Knowledge of her body once in the
Month of June last & at Sevll. other times since at one
of wch times he got her with the Male Bastard Child
She was Delivered of as aforesd. and that he the sd. Robt.
Nicholls
< no role > and no other Person is the true & reall father
thereof
