The Examination of Hugh Jenkins< no role > Lodging in the Parish of St.
Clement Danes in the County of Middx Taken the 17th. Day
of Novr. 1739 Who upon his Oath saith that abt. 7 Years ago
he was hired to & lived with his Grace the Duke of Ancaster in
the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields in the same County for the
space of three Years at ye. Yearly Wages of Six Pounds And
this Examint. further saith that he hath not since he left the
sd. Service Rented £10 a Year Paid Parish Taxes lived with any
other Person as a Yearly hired Servt . for the space of one Year
or otherwise gained a Settlemt. in any other Place to his
Knowledge or beleife And further saith yt. he was moved to the
said Parish of St. Giles in the Fields by Order bearing Date
the 13th. Day of June last & was accepted of by Mr. Rumey one
of the Overseers of the sd. Parish
