The Examination of Wm. Ibbes< no role > Aged abt. 57 Years Passed
from the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields in the County
of Middx Taken the 19th. Day of Octr. 1739 Who upon
his Oath saith that about 30 Years ago he lived in &
Rented a House in Clare Court in the Parish of St. Clement
Danes in ye. same County of the the Yearly Rent of £20
& lived in the same for the space of One Year&
upwardsAnd further saith yt. after he removed from
sd. House Mr. Rich let this Examint. have one of the
Houses he had Purchased in Bow Street in the Parish of
St. Paul Covent Garden (to Pull down in ordr. to
build the new. Play house) to live in wch was as this
Examint. beleives of the Yearly Value of £30 & upwds
& this Examint. lived in the same for the space of
two Years That he hath not since yt. time Rented
£10 a Year Paid Parish Taxes lived with any person
as a Yearly hired Servt. for the space of one Year
or otherwise gained a Settlemt. in any other Place
to his Knowledge or beleife & now being Poor & Old
is not able to maintaine himselfe
