Mary Place< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. aged abt. 21 Years upon Oath
says She never was Married says she lived a hired
Yearly Servant with Mr. Mortimer the third door
from Devereux Court in the Strand towards Temple
Bar in the parish of St. Clemt. Danes in the County
of Middx. for Sixteen Months at the yearly wages
of Five Pounds and hath quitted said Service abt.
Two Months. And further upon her Voluntary
Oath says she is pregnant with Child or Children
which is likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards
and to become chargeable to the said parish of St.
Clement Danes and that one John FitzJohn< no role > a
Carpenter (who lately lodged at Mr. Barker's a
Silk dyer by Salisbury Street in the Strand
but now absconds) had Carnal knowledge of
her Body in the house of the said Mr. Mortimer
on or abt. the Twenty seventh day of December
last and at one other time since at one of
which times he got her with Child of the Child
