to wit Jane Hughes< no role > Aged about Twenty Six years on
her Oath says she never was married Rented House or pd. Taxes
Says she lived a hired Yearly Servant with one Mr. Woodham in
Musical Instrument maker in Exeter Court in the Parish of
St. Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex upwards of Three
Years at the Yearly Wages of Six Pounds hath quitted her said
Service about five Months ago since which time she hath
gained no other Settlement And further on her Voluntary
Oath says she is Pregnant with Child or Children which is or
are likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards and to become
Chargeable to the said Parish she being Poor & unable to maintain
the same And further says that one Serjeant Bean who
lately Used Mr. Dykesher late Master at a Wine Vault facing
Burleigh Street in the Strand but of what Regiment she does
not know is the Father thereof he having had Carnal
knowledge of her Body at her said late Masters House some
time in the Month of October last but the Particular Day she
does not now Remember and at sevl. Difft. times afterwards
at one of Which times he got her with Child of the Child or Childn,
of Which she is now Pregnant and that the said Mr. Serjeant
Bean & no other Person did beget the same & that he is the real &
true father thereof.
