never rose up again, and this Deponent was so
fatigued with swimming across and nearly back
again (which they had neither of them done before)
that he could not render the deceased any
Assistance and with much difficulty reached the
Shour himself. this Deponent further sayeth
that assoon as the deceased disappeared some
Persons who were bathing there Lived in
search of the deceased but did not find him.
and Mr. Hurpt the Deputy Park Keeper went in this Boat and
seached for him many hours; but cauld not meet with. him
This Deponent went appear Yesterday morning between
9 & 10 o'Clock to the said Serpentine River
andsome Persons in a BoatMr. Hurt went in his
Boat and searched again several hours and about
two o'Clock in the Afternoon they found the deced
in the said ( [..] Serpentine River and conveyed
[..] him from thence to the Fox Ale house
in Knight bridge.

That the Joseph Gwin< no role > was accidentally drowned on
Sunday the 3d. July 1796 in bathing in the Serpentine
River Hyde Park
