Informations of Witnesses taken this 2d day of March
1795 in the Parish of St. James Westmr. at the House
of George Anderton< no role > the Sign of the Fountain in Broad
Street Carnaby Market before Anthony Gell< no role >
his Majestys Coroner for the said City & Liberty
touching the Death of Peter Thom< no role > then and
there lying dead as follow, to Wit.

George Overton< no role > of the Fountain in Broad Street Carnaby
Market Victualler being sworn deposeth that the deceased
has been known to him about 12 Months he being
lodged part of they time in this Deponents but not lately
as he had not room to accommodate him but the
deceased frequented his house and was a German and worked with Kirkman the Harpsichord Maker &
he and other of his Friends used to meet at this Deponent
house on a Saturday night that the deceased spent the
Evening at this Deponents house last Saturday Night
with his Friends and about one o'Clock on Sunday
morning he said he should not be able to get into his
Lodging at so late an hour and therefore would they
at this Deponents house and being inclined to sleep
he sat down in a Box in the Tap Room [..] where this
Deponent and Family left him and went to Bed and
whom the he want Girl got up in the morning and opend
the Windows one of the deceased Friends one to inquire
for him and the Girl not knowing he was dead told
the Friend he sat in the Box these (pointing to him)
