this 27th day of January 1795 in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square
at the House of Thomas Novis< no role > the
Sign of the Bag of Nails at Pimblico
before Anthony Gell< no role > His Majesty's
Coroner for the said City & Liberty
touching the death of Cordelia Stepney< no role >
an Infant then and there lying dead
as follow.

Henry Ward< no role > House Surgeon at the Westmr. Infirmary
being sworn deposeth that on Tuesday morning
last the 20th. Instant between w & 11 o'Clock the deceased
was brot: to the Westmr. Infirmary when she was decead
burnt in the upper part of the Body & in the Face
and every means was ward to Preserve her life but
without Effect as she died the next morning
(Wednesday) between 4 & 5 o' Clock from the
Injury occasioned by the Fire Henry Ward< no role > Surg [..]

Jane Stepney< no role > the Mother of the deceased being sworn
deposeth that between 9 & 10 o'Clock on Tuesday money
last she went out of her lodging Room in Kings Court to
fill her Tea Kettle with Water and told the deceased (aged
about 3yrs 9mths) to take care of her Brother (aged only
