An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the House of John Williams< no role > Sign of the Boars head , East Street Parish of St Pauls Covent Garden
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Twenty ninth day of January 1794 in the thirty fourth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Anthony
Gell
< no role > , Esq. Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Anne Head then and there lying dead, upon
the Oath of the several Jurors whose Names are here under
written and Seals affixed
good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Anne Read< no role > came to
her Death, do upon their Oath say, that the said Anne Read early on the Morning
of the twenty eighth day of January in the year aforesaid at the Parish and in the
Liberty aforesaid To Wit at the Cause abovementioned where she the said Anne Read
lodged, (before it was day light and as it was customary for her to do was going down
the Stairs It so happened that accidentally casually and by Misfortune
she the said Anne Read fell to the bottom of the said Stairs by Means
whereof she received a Mortal Wound on the head of Her the said
Anne Read< no role > : of which said Mortal Wound She the said
Annd Read then and there instantly died.

And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath
aforesaid do say that the said Anne Read< no role > in Manner and
by the means aforesaid accidentally casually and by Misfortune
came to be Death and not otherwise In Witness whereof as well
as welll the said Jurors as the said Jurors leave to this Inquisition
set their hands and Seals day Year & place first above written
