Information of Witnesses taken this 2d. day
of October 1793 in the Parish of St. John the
Evangelist Westmr . at the Dwelling house of Saml.

Horse Ferry before Anthony Gell< no role > His Majesty's
Coroner for the said City and Liberty touching the
Death of Samuel Dye then and there lying and
as follow, Vizt.

Christopher Swan< no role > of New Peter Street Westmr . apprentice to
Mr George Taton< no role > Lighter man being sworn deposeth and saith
that between 12 and one o' Clock this Morning the 2d. instant
as he and Mr. [..] John Taton< no role > and his Bror. William Taton< no role > Islanding upon one
of the Stone Lighter which was made fast to the wharf by
the Horse Ferry Westmr . they heard the Voice of a Young man
call Crying out and they presently perceived that he was fallen
out of a Long boat not far from them into the River Thomas
and this Deponent said he know it to be the Voice of the
Deceased, that they immediately can along the Craft to take
him out of the Water but before this Deponent could reach
him with his Hitcher the deceased Mark and they saw him
rise no more at that time whereupon he went home and
when he returned he saw the Deceased [..] who had been taken
out of the River laying upon the Causway

This Deponent forth sayth that there were no body in
the Long boat with the deceased and believe he fall
out of the Boat accidentally into the River and was
drowned.
