Informations taken this first day
of January 1790 at the Parish of St James
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Midsex upon an Inquisition touching the death
of Saml. Burton< no role > lying dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

Samuel Watkinson< no role > of Dear Street Westmr . on his
Oath saith That he has Worked for Saml. Burton< no role > the Deced
in opening and shutting his Shop in St. James's Market
(the Deced being a Fishmonger ) about five Years
says that on Wednesday the thirtieth of December last
in the Afternoon Deced told this Dept. that he would go to
leave Money, with the Porter to buy Fish for him the
next Morning. That he was very Gloomy and indifferent
but that he might go himself, according as he found
himself, Says that he went yesterday Morning as
usual to the Deecd's shop about a Quarter after seven
in the Morning, when he found the Shop fastened
with a Spring Lock, and the Key in the Lock on the
out side of the Door, Says that he opened the Door
and on doing into the Shop he saw the Deced Hanging
there by a small Cord, which was tied to A Laddar
near the Top of it, and about the Deced's Neck, says
that he cutthe Cutthe Cord and Deced dropped down
says that he felt the Deced's Hand which was [..]
