Informations taken this Twenty nine
day of September 1788 at the Parish of
St. Martin in the Fields with in the
Liberty of Westminster in the County of
Midsex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Edward Milliams< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty & County

John but< no role > [..] Victualler at the Sign of the Nag's [..]
in Orange Court in the Parish of St. Martin in the [..]
on him Oath in the That wa [..] Williams the Deced
hired in Stall of Deced [..] he usually [..]
and Kept (he being [..] ) Says that the
Deced was at Dept. House in Saturday E [..]
last the [..] twenty Instant, and Drinking
there with different People, but did not
appear to be in Liquor at Eleven oClock
appear to be in Liquor leaving the Deced
when Dept. went to Bed leaving the Deced
in the Taproom, but Dept. was informed by
he Wife that the Deced went away [..]
before [..] Twelve [..] Says that he heard nothing
more of the Deced until next Morning
when Dept. was informed by John Singleton< no role > [..]
Taylor , who worked in an Adjoining Shall [..]
Deced's, that he had called and Knocked at
Deced's Stall but had no Answer, and that he
saw the Deced's Hands through a Crease, and
that they were Black, Says that he went with
Mr. Singleton, who pulled open the Door of the
Stall and saw the Deced Honging in the Stall
by a Cord which was fastened to an Iron St [..]
fixed in one of the Rasters and with a
running Noose about the Deced's Neck, Says
that with a Knife Dept. cut the Cord, [..]
Deced being Cold and appeared to have been
dead many Hoars, and Dept. believes that the
Deced Hanged himself, Says that he saw
the Deced almost every Day who appeared to
be very uneasy in his Mind.
