Informations taken this Third day
of September 1788 at the Parish of
St. John the Evangelist within the
Liberty of Westmr in the County of
Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Elizabeth
Bluet an Infant lying dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County.

James Baine< no role > of Rhoody's Gardens in
the Parish of St. John the Evangelist
Westmr. on his Oath saith That Elizabeth
Bluet (a Nurse Child) an Infant of
the Age of two Years or thereabouts, on
Monday the first Instant was in Dept.
Kitchin when Dept. was going to Shave
himself, Says that he had boiled some
Water in the Face Kettle and put some of it into
a Pint Pewter Pot, almost fill, upon
the Dresser the Shaving Cloth being under
it, Says that the Deced was playing
about this Dept. took hold of the Shaving
Cloth and by degrees pulled it down
together with the Pewter Pot Says the hot
Water fall upon the Deced's Head and
Scalded her face Neck Shoulders and Stomach
very much Says that he carried to the
Westmr. Hospital , where she was Anointed
and Dressed, and Dept. carried her back
to his House where she died she same
Night. in consequence of the Accident
abovementioned.
