Informations taken this fifteenth day
of September 1787 at the Parish of St. John
the Evangelist within the Liberty of Westmr .
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of William Clarke< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty & County

Deborah< no role > the Wife of John Bowler< no role > of Vine
Street in Parish of St. John the Evangelist
Westmr. Laborer on her Oath saith That William
Clarke
< no role > the Deced has Lodged with Dept. about
three Years, says that the Deced Breakfasted
Yesterday Morning upon Tea with Dept.
and afterwards went out between Seven
and Eight o Clock appearing then to be
in Health, but to have been Drinking,
says that in the Afternoon about five o' Clock
Richard Sams brought the Deced home in
a Sack his Head and Arms being out of
the Sack, Says that he put the Deced
down upon his Bed in his Room Gently
and drew the Sack from under furr
Says that the Deced desired Dept to rub
his Hands and to give him something to
Drink, She gave him some Water, but was
have half a Quarter of Gin, says that
she gave him half or Quarter of Rasberry Gin
and Water which he Swallowed, and
afterwards some Water, Says that between
six and Seven o' Clock Dept. assisted, to
undress the Deced and to put him into Bed,
Says that she afterwards gave him some
Tabacco who his Mouth but Deced desired
her to take her to take it out of his Mouth
which he did it being then about Nine
o' Clock, and Dept. then went to her Bed
Says that the Deced appeared to be very bad
and said that a Sack of Flour was either
thrown upon him or fell upon him, the
Deced
