An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the twenty third day of July in the twenty seventh
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas

< no role > , Gentleman , Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Sarah Thomas< no role > then and there lying dead, upon

good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Sarah Thomas< no role > came to
h er Death, do upon their Oath say, That Sampson Thomas< no role > late of the Parish
aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid Labourer on the
twenty first day of July in the Year aforesaid with Force and Arms at
the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid in and
upon the said Sarah Thomas< no role > in the Peace of God and of our said
Lord the King then and there being feloniously did make an Assault
And that the said Sampson Thomas< no role > with both his Hands the said Sarah Thomas< no role > did
then and there in and upon the lower part of the Forehead ever the left Eye of her the said Sarah Thomas< no role >
feloniously strike and beat, And that the said Sampson Thomas< no role > by the striking & beating
aforesaid did then and there give unto her the said Sarah Thomas< no role > one Mortal Bruise in and up [..]
the lower part of the Fore head over the left Eye of her the said Sarah Thomas< no role > of which said
Mortal Bruise she the said Sarah Thomas< no role > at the said Parish of St. George Hanover Square
within the Liberty and County aforesaid from the said Twenty first day of July in the Year aforesaid
until the twenty second day of the same Month in the same Year did languish and languishing
did live, on which said twenty second day of July in the same Year she the said Sarah
Thomas
< no role > at the Parish and in the Liberty and County aforesaid of the mortal Bruise aforesaid
did die, And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said
Sampson Thomas< no role > her the said Sarah Thomas< no role > in Manner and by the means aforesaid
feloniously did kill and slay against the Peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and
Dignity And that he the said Sampson Thomas< no role > at the time of doing and committing of
the Felony and Manslaughter aforesaid or at any time since had no Goods or hattels
Lands or Tenements within the said Liberty or else where to the Knowledge or Notice of
the said Jurors In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said John Burgan< no role >
Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows in
their presence have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year
and place abovementioned
