Verdict of the Jury touching the Death of Edwd. Hewitt< no role >

That the said Edward Hewitt< no role > not being of Sound Mind Memory and
Understanding but Lunatic and Distracted on the 2d. day of August
1776 , at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square in the Liberty of
Westmr. to wit at his Dwelling House in New Bond Street in the
said Parish one end of a certain Cord fastened to a Nail in the
Wainscot in the back Farrett of his said Dwelling House and the
other end thereof about his own Neck did fix tye and faster and
there with did then and there Hang Suffocate and strangle
himself of which said Hanging Suffocation and strang being he the
said Edward Hewitt< no role > then and there instanlly Died. And so the
Jurors aforesaid on their Oath say that the said Edward Howitt< no role >
not being of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding but Lunatic
and Distracted in manner and by the means aforesaid did
Skill himself. In Witness whereof the Foreman on behalf
of himself and the rest of the Jurors has hereunto set his
Hand this 3d, day of August 1776.
