Informations taken this Third day of
August 1774 at the Parish of St. John the Evangt .
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition touch in the
death of Edward Padget< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Peter Price< no role > of Peter Street Westmr, Carpenter on his
Oath saith That on Monday last (Any wit 1st.) he went
up Mill Bank in order to sea the Waterman Roeve
for Mr. Doggeths Covt and Bader, Says that he stood near
to Mr. Toley's Door being the Syn of the Ship there
in the Parish of St. John the Evangelist Westmr . that the
were several small Canon there which fired as
the Waterman Rowed by, Says that he saw Edward
Padget< no role > the Dered near the Carned before they were
field, and after the Canon wage fired Dept. was
informed that the Dired was heart, upon which
the went to the window of the Regrn where Deced
was and saw [mark] surgeon tying up his Thigh, the
Deced stocking being Bloody from a wound in
Dere's Thigh Says that the Deced said that he
would wake home and accordingly did walk howm
and Dept. came with him, and did no hear
him charge the Man that fired the caroner with

John Crofts< no role > of Strutton Ground Westmr. wheel wright
on his Oath saith That on Monday last in the After [..]
he was at Mr. Foley on Mill Bank to see the
waterman Row up the Thomas Says that there
were Canon there to be Fired as the waterman
passed by, That he saw the Deced standing at some
Distance from the Canon before they were fired, and
that the Man, who fired the Canon before he did fire
ordered the People to go away, That the Canon were
ale fired but one which missed fire, That the
man then (commonly called Fonre Sober) went back to
the other Canon that had missed and that it then went
off, whereby the Deced reced a wound in his left
