inquisition touching the death of

on his Oath
saith, That on Saturday last [..] 1st.) a little before
Nine o'Clock in the Morning he was informed by
Mrs. Pemento that a Man was Drowned in the Willow
Walk
, upon which he went there and in the Detch
by the side of the Willow Walk
, he saw the Decedin
thewith paid of his Head and one Shoulder above
the Water, Says that he leaned on one side and
was dead, That he stuck, fast in the Mud in the
Ditch, and that he this Dept. with Mr. Birch and Mr. Salmon
with some Difficulty pulled the Deced out of the
Ditch, Says that he observed no Marks of violence
upon the Deced, and believes that the Deced Accidentally
fell into the Ditch, and died there by the Inclemoney
of the Weather

Oath saith That on Friday Night last (Decr. 31) between
seven and Eight o'Clock, a Man, which Dept. believes to be
the Deced, knocked at Deced's Door and asked for some small
Beer which Dept. gave him, and afterwards asked for
Bread and Cheese, Says that the Deced did not drink
the Beer, but threw the Mug, which was on Earthen one
away, and Deced immediately went away. but if
being very dark Dept. could not see which way he went
nor did he see him afterwards alive.
