Informations taken, this 27th. day of
October 1773 at the Parish of St. Margaret
in the County of Midsex within the Liberty of Westmr . in the County of
Midsex upon an Inquisition touching the
death of Thomas Tate< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish Liberty and County.

Robert Hyde< no role > of Hanaway Street in the Parish
of St. Mary le bone Painter on his Oath saith, That
Yesterday Afternoon (Octr. 26.) Dept. was Painting
upon the Second Floor in Mrs. Delap's House in
Queen Square in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr
Says that Thomas Tate< no role > the Deced; who worked for
Dept. was about five o'Clock in the Afternoon
Painting a Block Cornish on the outside of the
Said House, That the Deced came in and moved
the Board upon which he stood to work into
another Window, Says that he was in the Room
with Dept. that this Dept. was going down Stairs
and Deced,and the Deced was going to Work upon
the Board on the outside, Says that he immediately
heard a Noise and turning round saw. The End of the Board
slipping out of the Window and falling into the
Square, Says that he looked about and saw the
two half hundred Weight, (which the Deced had usually
put upon the End of the Board on the inside when
he Worked,) bying upon the Floor near the Window
and believes that the Deced had then forget to first them
upon the End of the Board, which was the reason
of the Deced falling down, Says that he came down
immediately and saw the Deced sitting upon his
Break and supported by some Man, and Blood upon
the Pavement, Says that the Deced was Speechless and
