Robert Hopwood< no role > Junr. of Crown Court Bookseller on his
Oath saith that Yesterday Morning between Ten and
Eleven o'Clock Mr. Russ come to Dept. and desired him to
Stop over with him saying that he believed the Woman in
the Cellar had hanged herself, upon which he went and saw
the Deced Hanging by a Cord fostered over her Bed room
Door and about her Neck, Says that Mr. Russ cut the Cord
and Deced was laid upon the Bed being Cold & Stiff and
appearing to have been dead some time

William Eastman< no role > Carpenter on his Oath saith That he
has been twelve Years Married to the Deced, who behaved
herself very well and was a sober good wife until within
about Twelve months last past, when she took to Drinking
and has very often since that time been Intoxicated with
Liquor, and was scarce a Day sober, which obliged
him to leave her, And Says that the Deced about
half a Year ago when in Liquor, told Dept. that she would
make away with herself.
