the Deced was dead, upon which he went to the Brawn [..]
and found the Deced dead. Says that the Deced
bled at the Nose when he first saw him on the
Ground and that he appeared to be in Liquor

Mary< no role > the Wife of John Holloway< no role > of Duke Street
Lincoln's Inn Fields on her Oath saith, That she
has for several Years sold Fruit in Covent Garden
Playhouse , that she was going down the Stairs-
leading to the Pit Passage on Monday Evening last
between five and six o Clock when she went the
Deced coming up, seemingly in Liquor, the Deced
having hold of the bottom of the Rail on the Stairs
leading to the two Shilling Gallery, Says that a great
many People were at that time going up to the two
shilling Gallery upon the Stairs and that a Man in
a Red waistcoat (whose name Dept. does not known
laid hold of the Rail to half Coming up and she believes forced away
the Deced's hand, and he fell backwards into the
pit Passage where he lay unable to move some bleeding
being upon his face, Says that she does believe that
the Man in the Red Wastcoat had not any intention
to hurt the Deced, and that what happened was purely
accidental.

John Lawrence< no role > at Mr. Arnold a Silversmith in
Little Britain , Joiner on his Oath saith, That he was going
down the Stairs leading to the Pit in Covent Garden Play home
on Monday last between five and Six o'Clock, when he saw
the Deced fall down backwards to the bottom of there Stairs
Says that he was taken away by some Man towards the
Pit, and some Man said that his name was Clarke, says
that the Deced did not speak in Dept. hearing. Says
that he did not see any Person touch the Deced before
he tell.

John Gloster< no role > of Russel Street Covent Garden Surgeon
on his Oath saith That he this day Examined the
Head of the Deced and found a Fracture on the
lower part of the Os Oceipitis, the Lura Mater
detached from the Skull and a large Quantity
of Extravacated Blood between the Dura Mater
and Pia Mater, which he believes to be the
came of Deced's Death.
