Informantions taken this Twenty first day
of February 1766 at the Parish of George Hanover
Square within the Liberty of Westminster in
the County of Middlesex on an Inquisition
touching the Death of John Benson< no role > lying Dead
in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Ann Gibbs< no role > Widow , at Mr. John Barlow< no role > in Farm Street in
the Parish of St. George Hanover Square on her Oath saith, that
the Deced has lodged with Mr. Barlow about Eight Years last past,
Says that she has not seen the Deced lately go out or come
in, but that he used to come in late and much in Liquor,
Says that yesterday Morning about Nine o'Clock she this Dept., together with
Mr. Baker (who lodges on the Second Floor adjoyning to Daced
andnot hearing any thing of the Deced, for some days,
went to Deced's Room, and with a Key which Mr. Barlow
had opened the Door, and Dept. went into the Room, Says
that in one Corner of the Room she discovered the Deced lying
on the Floor upon his Face inclining to the left side, Says
that his Cloaths were on, Says that the Deced was Dead
but Dept. did not touch him, and Dept. observed no Marks
of Violence on the Deced. Says that she afterwards saw
the Deced's Cloaths taken off, and Observed some drops of
Blood upon the Deced's shirt as she believes.

John Lawrence< no role > a Lodger at Mr. Murray in Grosvenors
Mews on his Oath saith that yesterday Morning a Woman
whom Dept. did not know, came to Dept. and informed him
that Mr. Benson was Dead, and asked Dept. if he knew where
the Deced's Daughter lived, Says that he found the Deced's
Daughter's Husband who went with Dept. to Deced's Room
and in one Corner found the Deced lying on the Floor on his
Face inclining to the leftside, Says that the Deced was Dead
but flexible, and that he had vomittedupon the Floor into a Sauaeparo in the Room
Says that he afterwards laid the Deced's out and observed
no Marks of Violence upon the Deced, Says that he found
the Key of Deced's Door under a Book upon the Table in Deced
Room.
