An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden , within the Liberty of the Dean Chapter.
of the Collegiate Church of St.Peter Westminster in the Country of Middlesex , the
Sixteenth day of September, in the Fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the [..]
by the Grace of god of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Saith and so
forth before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City
and Liberty, On view of the Body of a new born Male Child then and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of

who being then and there duly Sworn and Charged to inquire for our said Lord the King, when, he
and by what Means the said new born Male Child-came to his death, do upon their Oath say
That on the Fourteenth day of September in the year aforesaid a certain Woman Unknown
did bring forth the said male Child alive, and that on the same Day and Year a certain Person
or Persons to the Jurors aforesaid as yet unknown with Force and Arms at the Parish aforesaid
within the Liberty aforesaid in the Country aforesaid, in and upon the said Male infant Child,
in the Peace of God and our said Lord the King then and there being Feloniously wilfully and
of his her or their Malice forethough did make an Assault, And that the said Person or Persons
to the Jurors aforesaid unknown did then and there Feloniously Wilfully and of his her or their
Malice forethoughtChoak and Strangle the said Male Child, of which said Choaking and
Stranging the said Male Child then and there instantly died. And that the said Person or-
Persons unknown of his her or their Malice forethought, the Male Child aforesaid. in manner
and form aforesaid did then and there Hill and Murder, Against the Peace of our said
Lord the King his brown and Dignity. In Witness whereof as well as the said Coroner
as the said Thomas Setree< no role > foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the
rest of his said Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands and
Seals the Day Year and Place first above written.
