Informations taken this third day of
September 1765 at the Parish of Mr. Margaret
within the City & Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Middlesex on an Inquisition taken on View
of the Body of William Earle< no role > being Dead in the
said Parish City Liberty and County.

John Wright< no role > of ax yard in the Parish of St. Margaret
westmr. Bricklayer in his Oath saith that he was sent
for Yesterday Afternoon between six and seven o'Clock
to Mr. William Gibbard< no role > a Baker in Kingstreet westm. to make
good the Mouth of his Over, Says that he went there, and
found Mr. Johnson a Chimney Sweeper and the Deced was was his Apprentice
in Mr. Gibbard's Bakehouse, says thatanotherhe Heard two other Boys
[..] then in the Flue on Funnel of the Over Sweeping
it, Says that soon after one of the said Boys came out
and sweated very much, Dept. says that Mr.Johnson
was gone away before the said Boy came out of the
Flue, and that he this Dept. said to Deced, now by Boy
do you go in upon which Deced readily went into
the Flue of the Queen, says that in about four
Minutes after Dept. went home,says that in about
three on four minute after he got home, the young
Man that he had left in the Bakehouse followed him
and told him that Boy in the Chimney would be
Smothered unless he would come to cut a Hole
in the Brickwork, says that he went there imme-
diately and found Mr. Johnson the Chimney Sweeper
endeavouring to cut the Brickwork, Says that
to took the Hammer out of Mr.Johnson heard and opened a Hole in the
Chimney, opposite to the Place where Deced was
Stuck fast, Says that said Mr.Johnson and Dept. took
Deced out and carried him up Stairs into the Shop
but Dept. observed no Signs of Life in the Deced
Says that a surgeon was fetched immediately.
