Information of Witnesses taken this thirteenth
day of August 1765 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the City & Liberty of Westminster in the County
of Middlesex on an Inquisition taken on View
of the Body of Rebecca Carpenter< no role > lying Dead in the
said Parish City Liberty and County.

Thomas Lack< no role > Apprentice to Mr. Higgs at the Horse
Ferry Westmr. Waterman on his Oath saith that Yesterday
Afternoon between one and two o'Clock, this Deponent
and Roger Dolapp< no role > and William Morgan< no role > two Watermen
being on a Boat on the River Thames andcoming
Rowing through the second Arch from the Westmr. Shore
under westmr. Bridge. the abovementioned William
Morgan
< no role > said he saw a Petty coat, upon which Dept.
and the other Watermen Shoved the Boat back, and
said Roger Delapp< no role > put the Hook belonging to the Boat
in the Water and brought up the Deced, Says that
they immediately pulled the Deced to the Shore at
Westmr. Bridge in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr.
Says that the Deced had no Cap on, and but one Shoe on
Says that the Deced was then Dead and that he observed
no Marks of Violence on the Deced.

Thomas Foster< no role > Watch case maker at Mr. Bell in wood
Street London on his Oath saith, That he has Known
the Deced about two Years and Frequently used to
call upon her, Says that he called upon Deced last
Thursday Evening, This Dept, says that the Deced used
to complain to him of the want of Business, and that
she in a particular Manner lamcuted it on Thursday
Night, and said that she had many Bills that would
be due very soon, that she was not able to pay them

And on that Account did not know what to do
Says that she asked Dept. Advice, and that he adviced
her to make some Shift this Summer, if she could, and
that he hoped Business would answer better in the
Winter, Says that the Deced had a Cold and had
been in a Fever [..] for somedays, Says that the
Deced was greatly concerned on Accont. of her Debts
and was apprehensive of being Arrested for them
and this Dept. says that the Deced owed him money

Jonathan Radcliffe< no role > at Mr. Nightingall a Dry Salter
in Love Lane Aldermanbury London in the Capacity
of Clerk, on his Oath saith, that he has known the Deced
about twelve months, Says that about Ten o'Clock,
on Thursday Night he called on the Deced in Parliamt.
Street Says that he found her in a Fever as she had
been for a week before, Says that the Deced was
low Spirited and Melanchely, and that Miss Poland
who lived with Deced told Dept. that the Deced's Affair.
were bad, and that the Deced fretted much on that
Account and believed that it was the Chief cause of
her Complaint upon which Dept. had a great deal of
Conversation with Deced on that Subject and advised
her to State her Account, Says that Deced complaind
of being much in Debt, about on hundred and
twenty or thirty pounds, and that she could not tell here to pay
them, and threatened to abscond and leave the whole in
the Shop for the Creditors, Says that he advised her not
to do so but to draw out a State of her Debts and
write to her Creditors, which she at last promised to
to the next morning, Says that the Deced said it
must be done before Monday, that there was be Bills then
due, and that she wod. not be able to see her Creditors
Says that Miss Bland went to Bed before Eleven o'Clock
and that Depont. went away about a Quarter after
Eleven
