An Inquisition Indented taken for Our Sovereign Lord the King
at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate
Church of St. Peter Westminster in the County of Middlesex , the Sixteenth day of April in the fourth Year
of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France
and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman Coroner
of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the several Bodies of Diana Tower< no role >
Charles Towers< no role > , Sarah Towers< no role > , John Nichols< no role > , Mary Nichols< no role > his Wife, and Mary Nichols< no role > his Daughter,
then and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of William Clark< no role > , Thomas Thompson< no role > , John

good and lawfull Men of the said Liberty duly chosen, who being then and there duly Sworn and
charged to inquire for our said Lord the King, when, how and by what Means the said Diana
Towers, Charles Towers< no role > , Sarah Towers, John NiIchols, Mary Nichols< no role > , and Mary Nichols< no role > severally
came to their Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said Diana Towers, Charles Towers< no role > , Sarah
Towers, John Nichols< no role > Mary Nichols< no role > and Mary Nichols< no role > on the fourteenth day of April in the
Year aforesaid being Lodgers on the Second Floor in the dwelling House of Ann Nash< no role > situate
in James Street in the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty aforesaid in the County aforesaid,
It so happened that the said dwelling House of the said Ann Nash< no role > , in the said Second Floor,
then and there Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune took Fire, whereby the said
Diana Towers, Charles Towers< no role > , Sarah Towers, John Nichols< no role > , Mary Nichols< no role > , and Mary Nichols< no role > ,
were severally then and there, by the Smoak and Flames arising from and occasioned by the said
Fire, Suffocated and Burnt, of which said Suffocation and Burning they the said Diana Towers,
Charles Towers< no role > , Sarah Towers, John Nichols< no role > , Mary Nichols< no role > , and Mary Nichols< no role > , then and there
severally Died. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say, that the said
Diana Towers, Charles Towers< no role > , Sarah Towers, John Nichols< no role > , Mary Nichols< no role > , and Mary Nichols< no role > ,
in Manner and by the Means aforesaid, Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune severally
came to their Death, and not otherwise. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as
the said William Clark< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest of
his said Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals, the
Day Year and Place first above written
