asked the deced to being down the Quilt of the
Bed at the same time informing deced it was not
Dept. (dept. suspecting that the Quilt was gove)
says on Thursday morning between Six and Seven
deced called out to Dept. and informed her the
Thing was upon the Banisters (meaning as deced
afterwards explained herself, the Quilt) says
that as Soon as Dept. got up which was about
seven that morning she went up Stairs to forth
down the Quilt, which Dept apprehended was
put on the Banister's by the deced and found only
a Blanket, which made Dept. imagine her Quilt
was made away with, says she [..] went out Yesterday morning
inquire after deced, and the Goods which depts.
apprehended missing, says that aftersomesearching
for the deced she found her at Break pastyesterday

with Mrs. Wilson and other persons in
Shutton Ground, says upon Depts. desiring the deced
to go home with her anddesiredeliver the Quilt
says that after the deced returned with dept. to her
House which was about eleven o' Clock the deced
acknowledged the making away with the Quilt
and other Goods but said she should be paid. says
the deced wrote notes to some persons for money
the went in to her own apartment, it been then
about noon. says she presently went up Stairs
in order to Shew the deced a Bill of Accounts
between them, says the deced came out to the
Landing Place and reced it ofdecedDept. and
desired pen Ink and paper which Dept. brot. her
up says after Sometime, being called down, dept
went up again, and desired deced to open the Door
but reced no Answer, says She rattled at the Door
but could not make the deced speak Whereupon
she went over to Mrs. Percival a neighbour and
informed her of the affair. who came over with
Dept. and attempted to break open the Door which was
then locked and the Key on the inside that on Mrs.
percivals attempting to open the Door the Key
flew says that on looking in her pocket she
found a Key which fitted the Lock and Dept.
opened the Door therewith says that Mrs.
percival went in to the Room, and was followed
by a number of people who had got up stairs
and by the discourse of the people finding that
the deced was hanging, Dept. gave Mrs percival
a Knife to cut the deced down, but did not see
the deced hanging, or cut down being much
frightened says she sent for a surgeon in order
to bleed the deced, but he said she was dead. says
she has heard that the deced had lived well, and
believes her Circumstances were very bad, and
for about a Week before the deceds death has
observed her to be melancholly.

says that the has known the deced from a
Girl, and for nine Weeks last past has frequently
seen the deced, says she was very Bare of Cloaths
and appeared to be in very bad Circumstances, says
that for a month last past the deced has appeared
notbeto be right in her mind on account of
deceds giving herself to drinking; and says that
she believes the deceds misfortunes might
occasion her drinking.
