Evan Thomas< no role > of No. 4 King Street in the parish
of the parish of Saint Margaret Westminister in the
county of Middlesex Chairman Maketh oath
that at the last Sessions of the Peace for the city and
Liberty of Westminister the wife of this Deponent
preferred and found a true Bill of Indictment
against the above named Defendant for violently
assaulting and Beating the said wife of this Deponent
And this Deponent Saith that he is informed and
Believes that the said Defendant did also at the
came Session enter into a Recognizance to try
the said Indictment at the present Sessions And
this Deponent Saith that on Saturday last the
wife of this Deponent was served with a Notice
of Trial which is hereunto annexed and this
Deponent Saith that in Consequence of such said
Notice he this Deponent fully expected the said
Trial to come on at the now Sessions but to this
Deponents Great Surprize the wife of this Deponent
and who is also the above prosecutrix was last night
about the hour of Eight O'Clock apprehended and
Conveyed to the House of Michael Devlin one of
the Officers to the Sheriff of Middlesex where she
now remains in Custody on a warrant under the
hand and Seal of Sir Simon Le Blane< no role > Knight one
one of His Majestys Justices of the Court of Kings Bench
