The Examination & Confession of
Ann Burges< no role > taken before by three
of his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of ye peace this
22d: of May 1756

Who being Charged with feloniously
stealing from out of ye Workhouse of ye parish
of St George Hanover Square in the Liberty
of Westmr. divers peices of Linnen Cloth for
Sheeting & Shirting Worsted Stockings, Woolen
for Apron Tin potts, Shoes Shirts and
other Goods ye property of ye said Parish
Saith That she was a patient in ye Workhouse
of ye said Parish for near three years & Used
to be employ'd in making gownds & Linnen
[..] therein Acknowledged & Confesses
That she stole & had taken from out of ye said
Workhouse at divers times peices of Linnen
Cloth of different sorts & remnants of
Woolen and has sold ye same to one

of James street in ye said parish who know
she brought ye said goods from ye sd. Workhouse
