In Pursuance of an Order of the Honble House of Commons of the 20th. day of
March instant You are hereby Commanded to require from the Overseers of the Poor
for the Years 1747, 1748, 1749 and 1750, of every Parish Township & Extra Parochial
Place within the Limits of Your Authority as High or Chief Constable, Accounts
Signed by the said Overseers of the total Amount of the Sums of Money annually
assessed upon every Such Parish Township or Extra Parochial Place towards the
Relief of the Poor from Easter 1747, to Easter 1750, distinguishing each Year,
and distinguishing also as far as may be in the said Accounts the total Amount of
Such Sums of Money as have been Annually paid out of the Said Assessments for any
other Purposes than for the Relief of the Poor, And that the Said Overseers of the Poor
So required do deliver to you the said High or Chief Constable the Said Accounts
And that You do with all convenient Speed deliver the said Accounts to me the Clerk
of the Peace for the said City and Liberty together with Accounts of the Number of Workhouses
established for the Employment or Relief of the Poor in the Said Parishes Townships
and Extra Parochial Places, which Said Accounts are by me to be transmitted to
the Clerk of the Said House of Commons ion order to be said by him before the Said
House Given under my Hand the 30th. day of March 1751.
