and County to One Richard Turner< no role > then One of the Constable of the said Parish of
Saint James within the Liberty of Westmr was delivered in due Town of Law to be
executed which said Richard Turner< no role > afterward to wit on the said Twenty Sixth Day of
December in the Year aforesaid at the Parish aforesaid in the Liberty aforesaid in
the County aforesaid the said Joseph Davis< no role > by Virtue of the said Warrant did take and
Arrest and the said Joseph Davis< no role > in his Custody then and there had to Answer the
premisses mentioned in the said Warrant And the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath
aforesaid do further present that the said Joseph Davis< no role > late of the said Parish of St.
James within the Liberty of Westmr. in the Liberty aforesaid in the County
aforesaid Yeoman James Ives< no role > late of the same place Yeoman Preston Powell< no role >
late of the same place Yeoman John Bone< no role > late of the same place Yeoman Ratcliff
Littler late of the same place Yeoman and Thomas Weston< no role > late of the same place
place Yeoman afterwards (to wit) on the said Twenty Sixth Day of December in the
Year aforesaid with force and arms at the Parish aforesaid in the Liberty aforesaid
in the County aforesaid in and upon the said Richard Turner< no role > then being one of the
Constables of the said Parish as aforesaid in the peace of God and our said Lord the
King and in the Execution of his said Office then and there being did make and Assault
and him the said Richard Turner< no role > then and there did beat wound and ill treat so that
of his Life it was greatly despaired and the said James Joes Preston Powell John
Bone Ratcliff Littler< no role > and Thomas Weston< no role > him the said Joseph Davis< no role > then being in the
Custody of the said Richard Turner< no role > for the Cause aforesaid then and there out of the
Custody and against the Will of the said Richard Turner< no role > unlawfully did rescue and
put at Large to go where he would and he the said Joseph Davis< no role > himself out of the
Custody and against the Will of the said Richard Turner< no role > then and there unlawfully
did rescue and escape at Large where he would go to the great Obstruction of Justices
to the evil Example of all others in the like Case offending and against the peace of our
said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity And the Jurors aforesaid upon their
Oath aforesaid do further present that the said Joseph Davis< no role > James Joes Preston
Powell John Bone< no role > Ratcliff Littler< no role > and Thomas Weston< no role > on the said Twenty Sixth Day of
December in the Year aforesaid with force and arms at the Parish aforesaid with in
the Liberty aforesaid in the County aforesaid in and upon the said Richard Turner< no role >
(then being One of the Constables of the said Parish of St. James within the Liberty of
Westmr in the Liberty aforesaid in the County of Middx aforesaid) in the peace of the
said our said Lord the King and in the Execution of his said Office then and there being
did make an assault and him the said Richard Turner< no role > then and there did beat
wound and ill treat so that of his Life it was greatly despained and other wrongs
to the said Richard Turner< no role > then and there did to the great Damage of the said
Richard Turner< no role > and against the peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and
Dignity Whereupon the Bailrff of the said Liberty is commanded that he cause
the said Joseph Davis< no role > James Joes< no role > Preston Powell< no role > John Bone< no role > Ratcliff Littler< no role > and
Thomas Weston< no role > to came to answer to the premisses and afterward to wit at the
General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord< no role > the King holden at the
Town
