The General Quarter Session of the peace held at the Town Court House
near Westmr. Hall in and for the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the
Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westmr. the City Borough and Town of
Westmr. in the County of Middlesex and St. Martin Le Grand London
on Wedneday the Sixth Day of April in the Sixteenth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord< no role > George the Second by the Grace of God of
Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith Etc
before Thomas Deveil< no role > Richard Farwell< no role > James Fraser< no role > This name instance is in set 3480. Esquires
and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned
to keep the peace within the Liberty aforesaid and St. Martin Le Grand
London and also to hear and determine divers Felonys Trespasses and
other Misdeeds done and Committed within the Liberty aforesaid.

Whereas by the Statute of the Twelfth Year of the Reign of his present Majesty
King George the second Intituled and Act for the more easy Assessing Collecting and
Levying of County Rates it is Enacted that the Justices of the peace for the said
City and Liberty of Westminster shall have full power to appoint the Governour
or Master of the House of Correction within the said City and Liberty who
shall have the Sum of Money Yearly as had been Accustomed for and towards
the Support and Maintenance of the prisoners in his Custody Etc (not Exceeding
Fifty pounds by the Year) and to direct the Treasurer or Treasurers of the
County of Middx to obey all order which shall be made by the said Justices
of the said City and Liberty on the Greater part of them Assembled in their
General Quarter Sessions for the payment of any Sum or Sums of Money
for the Allowance allotted to such Governour or Master of the House of
Correction And it appearing to this Court that there is due to Samuel
Attersoll Master or Governour of the said House of Correction the Sum
of Twenty Five pounds for half a Years Salary due at Lady Day last
past it is Ordered and Directed by this Court that Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer
of the County of Middx do pay to the said Samuel Attersoll< no role > the said Sum of
Twenty five pounds for his half years Sallary as Governour or Master of
the said House of Correction and that this Receipt with this Order shall be a
Sufficient discharge to the said Mr. Higgs for the Sum
