To wit.


To the Constable, Headborough , Tythingman, and other Officer of
the Peace of the Parish of Saint. Margaret Westmr. in
the County of Middx and [..] the Gover-
nour or Master of the House of Correction , at Tothill
Feilds within the said Parish and likewise to all
Governours or Masters of all Houses of Correction whom it may con-
cern to receive and convey; and to the Church-wardens, Chapel-
wardens, or Overseers of the Poor of the Parish, Place or Pre-
cinct of Chimley in the County of Devon
or either of them to receive and obey

WHEREAS Roger Mason< no role > Aged abt. 44 Yrs. (who has
a Wife named Elizabeth< no role > & by her two Children now luring
namely Thomas< no role > Aged upwards of Seventeen Years and
Charles< no role > Aged upwards of Four Yearswas
apprehended in the Said Parish of Saint. Margaret
Westminster . as a Rogue-and
Vagabond and brought before Me One of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace for this City & Liberty and upon Examination of the said
Roger Mason< no role > taken before Me upon Oath, it doth
appear that he is a
Rogue and Vagabond within the true Intent
and Meaning of the Statute in that Case made and provided and that the last
legall place of Settlement of the said Roger Mason his
said Wife Elizabeth and their said two Children, Thomas
and Charles to be in the said Parish ore Place of Chimley .

THESE are therefore to require you the said Constable, Headborough,
Tythingman, or other Officer of the Peace , to convey the said Roger Mason< no role >
his said Wife and their said two Children
to the House of Correction at Tothill Feilds in the said Parish of Saint
Margaret Westmr. and you the said Governour or Master of the said House, of Cor-
rection, to receive the said Roger Mason< no role > his Wife the sd. Children into
your Custody, and them to convey or cause to be conveyed
to the first House of Correction in the next County or Place in the direct
Way to the said Parish or Town of Chimley

and in like Manner, every other Governour or Master of every House of
Correction to whom it may belong to convey the said Roger Mason< no role > his said
Wife and their said two Children
from House of Correction of House of Correction , untill they
shall arrive at the House of Correction belonging to the County,
Riding , City, Borough, Town-Corporate, Division, or Liberty, to which
the said Parish, Town, or Place of Chimley
doth belong; and the
Master or Governour of the said House of Correction last mentioned, to
convey and deliver, or cause to be conveyed and delivered, the said Roger Mason< no role >
his said Wife & their sd. two Child to some Church-warden, Chapel-
warden, or Overseer of the Poor of the Parish or Town of Chimley
to be there provided for accord-
ing to Law: And you the said Church-wardens, Chapel-wardens and Over-
seers of the Poor are hereby required to receive the said Person s and provide
for them as aforesaid. GIVEN under My Hand and Seal this
Twenty third Day of June in the year of our Lord
One thousand seven hundred and forty One.
