Whereas by an order made at the General Quarter Sessions of the peace
held the Ninth day of April last for the City and Liberty of Westmr. It was
referred to the Rt. Homble. George Lord Carpenter< no role > Sr Thomas Clarges< no role > Bast.
James Steuart< no role > Esqr . Colb. Richard Whitworth< no role > & Thomas Rea< no role > Esqr . Justices
of the peace for this Liberty or any two of them to Summon the late
Surveyors of the Highways of the Parish of St. George Hanover Square before
them or any two of them to inspect & Examine the Accounts of the late
Sarveyors & Collectors of the Monies Collected & receved for there pair of
the Highways and Pavements of the said Parish for the said year last past
and also of their Payments & Disbursment thereout And Whereas by
the said Order the Justices are desired to report & Certify a State of the
said Accounts in Writing with their Opinon to this Court Now We the Rt
Honble . George Lord Carpenter< no role > and Thomas Rea< no role > Esqr : two of the said
Justices do in pursuance of the said order hereby Certify a State of the said
Account which is within Writtin and We are of Opinion the same is just
& reasonable Given under our hands this 2d. Day of August 1740
