This Indenture Witnesseth That James [..] man< no role > Son of
William Chapman< no role > of the Parish of St Martins in the
Fields in the County of Middlesex [..]
doth put himself Apprentice unto Joseph Beschey< no role > [..] the sd Parish and
County aforesd Pa [..] ter
to learn [..] Art and with him after the manner of an Apprentice [..] serve from
the Thirtie first of Januaryinto the
full end and term of Seven Years from thence next ensuing and fully to be
compleat and ended; during which Term the said Apprentice his [..] Master
faithfully shall and will serve his Secrets keep his lawfull Com [..] ments every
where gladly do he shall do no Damage to his said Maser nor see to
be done of others: but to his Power shall lett or forthwith give Notice to his said Masterof the same: The
Goods of his said Master he shall not waste, nor lend them unlawfully to any. Hurt to his said Master he
shall not do, cause or procure to be done; he shall neither buy nor sell without his Masters leave [..] Taverns, Inns
or Ale-houses he shall not hav [..] At Cards, Dice, Tables, or any other unlawfull Game he shall [..]
nor from the Service of his said Master
Day nor Night shall absent herself; but in all Things as an honest and faithful Apprentice shall [..] demean and
behave himself toward his said Master and all his during all the said Term. And the said Master
in Consideration of the Summ of
of lawful Money of Great Britain to h [..] in hand well and truly paid by
(The Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Apprentice in the [..] and Mistery
of Paintingwhich he now useth, shall teach and instruct, or cause to be [..] and instructed
the best way and manner that he can; finding and allowing unto said Apprentice sufficient Meat Dr [..]
Washing, Lodging, and all other Necessaries, during the said Term

And for the true Performance of all and every the Covenants and Agreements aforesaid either of the said Parties bindeth
himself unto the other firmly by these Presents In Witness whereof, the Parties abovesaid to these indentures inter
changeably have set their Hands and Seals the Thirtie firstDay of January
in the SeventhYear of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George ye Second by the Grace of God of
Great Britain, France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of Our Lord 1733
