after the Manner of an Apprentice above three Years during which time his sd Master
had upon very Slight Occasions beat the said Petitioner & had at other times to
Gratifye his Passionate Temper attempted to stead the said Petitioner with an
Instrument used in the Stay making Trade Called a Poker & at other times with a
Knife
and had put the said Petitioner in such dread of his Life that it had been
with the utmost Difficulty that the said Petitioner had Performed the Duty of an
Apprentice
And that the same things had been Repeated often with Little or no
