Richard Baugh< no role > Gentl Maketh Oath that he this Dept did on
Tuesday last make inquiry of Severall person where this Dept could
find one Mrs Hannah Surman< no role > who had left her house (& is as this
Dept is informed Prosecutrix in this cause) but could by no means
hear where she was gone except at her Brothers or Sisters
whereupon did imediately go to Hounsditch to the House of one
Britridge (who is as this Dept is informed Brother to the Prosecutrix
Hannah Surman) & inquired of Mr Britridges Servt Maid where to
hear off or find Mrs Surman orwetherwhether she lodged there who told this Dept
she had not been there this Month & did not know where she was so this
Dept did then leave with her a true Coppy of the notice hereunto
Annexed her Master Mr. Britridge not being then at home this
Dept desired to give it him so soon as he came home which
accordingly she promised so to do And this Dept saith that from
thence this Dept did go totheNew Nicholls street in Shoreditch
to the House of one Mrs Manuca (who is as this Dept is informed
Sister to the said Hannah Surman) & there this Dept asked her if
Mrs Surman lodged there or where this Dept. could find her, who
told this Dept she had not be there for some time but was in the
Country but would not tell this Dept where so this Deptdid leave
did leave then with the sd Mrs. Manuca another true Coppy of the sd.
notice hereunto annexed & desired her to send it to the sd Mrs Surman
& told her the Contents of the sd notice (or [..] ords to that effect). And this Dept further Saith
that Yesterday Morning this Dept did se Mr Britridge who told this Dept
he was Mrs Hannah Surmans Brother that his Servant had given
him the notice but had not given it to her for he had not seen her
this fortnight & knew not where she was, she haveing be gone
from her habitation or words to that effect.
