HIS Indenture Witnesseth, That Mary Dunn< no role >
One of the Poor Girls of the Charity School of
commonly called ye Blue Coat School in ye Parish of St
Margts: Westmr & County of Middlesex doth put h er self
Apprentice to Hester Duggan< no role > in ye Parish of St Martins
in ye Fields and County aforesaid
to Learn h er yt, Art, of a Serve and with h er after the Manner of an Appren-
tice to serve from the Day of the Date hereof, unto the full End and Term of
five Years, from hence next ensuing, and fully to be compleat and ended;
during which Term. the said Apprentice h er said M istress faithfully shall
serve, h er Secrets keep, h er lawful Commandments every where gladly do, she
shall do no Damage to h er said Mistress nor see to be done of others: but
that she to h e Power shall let, or forthwith give Warning to h er, said
M istress of the same. she shall not waste the Goods of h er said M istress
nor lend them unlawfully to any. she shall not contract Matrimony within
the said Term. She shall not play at Cards, Dice, Tables, or any other un-
lawful Games, whereby h er said M istress may have any Loss. With h er
own Goods or others, during the said Term. without License of h er said
M istress she shall neither buy or sell. she shall not haunt Taverns, Ale-
houses, or Play-houses, nor absent h er self from h er said M istess's Service
Day or Night unlawfully: But in all Things as a faithfully Apprentice, she shall
and will behave her self towards h er said M istress and all h er during the
said term. And the said M istress (in Consideration of the Sum of Two
Pounds two shalls paid to her by the Order of the Trustees of the said School, towards
the sitting out and providing the said Apprentice with sit and necessary Cloathing)
h er said Apprentice, in the [..] Art and Mystery [..] of a Servant , by the
best Means that the can, shall teach and instruct, or cause to be taught and in
structed, finding unto h [..] er said Apprentice, Meat, Drink. Apparel. Lodging,
Washing, [..] all other Necessaries, according to the Custom of the City of Lon-
don, during the said Term. And for the true Performance of all and every the
said Covenants and Agreements, either of the said Parties bind themselves unto
the other by these Presents. In Witness whereof, the Parties abovenamed to
these Indentures interchangeably have put their Hands and Seals the Seventh
Day of March Anno Dom. 17 19/20 And in the Sixth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord Gorge, of Great Britain, France, and
Ireland King, Defender of the Faith, Etc.
