of ye Gate house within the City of Westmr. under ye Custody of Francis Geary< no role >
Keeper of the sd. Prison have this day exhibited their humble Petition to this Courtthe humbly
Shewing that ye sd. Francis Geary< no role > & his agents haveingbeen guilty of Severall Extortious &
abusses By taking 2d. in ye Shill out of ye Sacramt. money & other Ecclesiasticall charities paid to ye
Prisoners within ye sd Prison from Westminster Abbey thaBy Prmitting & ye Turnkey & his wife to [..] take of ye sd. charities
By Secreeting Lady Robison's charity, By takeing 6d. of every Prisoner P taking of a [..] gift of Beef & Bread lately given to ye sd.
Prisoners & by eating part of such Beef & bread in his own family, By nothangsputting up in the
sd. Prison a last of the charities thereto belonging, By Stopping £4:10:0 part of athecharity£4:10:
under a prsence of paying a debt due to ye sd. F. Geary from a Felon before any Distribution
thereof was made & then refusing any part thereof to two of ye Prisonersfor debtthen
confined for debt in ye sd. Prison By neglecting to furnish ye Gaol as it ought to be &
extorting foryehis lodgeing & therein more than is allowable by the Statute By Suffering
Felons & other disorderly persons to come into thosePrisonvery rooms for which ye sd
Debtors pay him By extorting from every Prisoner coming into ye sd. Gaol 3s:6d: By pmitting ye
thehisTurnkey & his wife to threaten to beat ye Prisoners By refusing persons comeing to ye sd Petitioners
and By suffering ye sd. Prison to be so nasty that there is dangerof itsthere by of
breeding an Sicknessin ye sd. Gaoltherein and thereby most humbly praying that this Court woud
appoint a Comittee of Justices to inspect ye sd. Prisoner to Examine into ye facts alledged with
3d. Petition and give such releif to ye sd. Petitioners as to this Court shall think proper And

Prison [..] have likewise exhibited their humble Petition to this Court Shewing That
Junis a Prisoner on a criminal Ptecutionfor Stabbing a Man continualy insults the
last named Petitioners for refuseing to sign Petitions to this Court agt. ye sd. Francis Geary< no role >
who they think has not misbehaved himself in his office but has used them wth great
humanity and that the sd. Junys goes up and down in ye sd. Prison offering money tosuch ofye
Prisoners therein to sign such complaint at tho ye sd. Junys has been used with great Indulgence
and thereby humbly praying this Court to int pose its authority for their lase & quiet by
ordering the sd. F. Geary to restrain ye sd. Junis from comeing among their or otherwise to
releive them as this Court shall think fitt Now this Court takeing the matters
alledged & conteined in both ye sd. Petitions into Consideration Doth order & it is hereby
recomended & referred to Sr. Thos. Cross< no role > Bart . Wm. Cowper< no role > Jno. Cross< no role > A Choke S. Savill Jno< no role >

Justices of ye Peace of this City & Liberty & to such other Justices of ye Peace of this City &
Liberty as shall please to attend or any Five of them & they are hereby desired to meet
at ye sd. Prison on Friday the Nineteenth day of this month of January at five of the clock in the
Evening to examine into the matters conteined in both the said Petitions and to report their
[..] ion therein to this Court to the [..] that such farther order may be made thereupon as to this
[..] shall seem justify reasonable and it is farther ordered by this Court that two days
[..] sd. intended meeting shall be given to everyall the Justices of ye Peace of the City & Liberty
